MASS

In some of its courses, Cisco writes about four objectives in the design of any high-performance network: security, availability, scalability, and manageability. I invented a simple mnemonic for these four aspects - MASS (manageability, availability, scalability, security).

WLAN. Pronunciation

People say "VLAN" as "vee-LAN". I expected that "WLAN" is pronounced as "double-you-LAN" but it is pronounced as "Wireless-LAN" :)

Blog in German. Update

I wrote that blog.de had not permitted to create a blog from my Russian IP-address. I speculated about this angrily but I was not right. I have received an invitation from blog.de after I had written to the support of blog.de. Germans are normal people.

Why do they stop blogging?

Today I found tens of bloggers who had stopped blogging a year or more ago. Had they blogged because blogs had been in fashion?

Mnemonics for Network Maintainance Tasks

Blog in German

I tried to create a blog in German on some German platform in domain .DE to have some practice in German. I found only one (blog.de). I don't know why but they do not permit to create blogs from Russia. Goethe Institut tries to spread the usage of German but I think that many German Web services try to block the usage of German by foreigners. Do Nazis create the rules of such German Web services?

UPDADE: I was not right. I have received an invitation from blog.de after I had wrote to the support of blog.de. Germans are normal people.
